Uked! – The first play-along ukulele musical<\/em><\/strong> is thrilled to announce that our show is featured on the Back Page of the Winter 2021 edition of popular US magazine, Ukulele<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Many thanks to Ukulele<\/em><\/strong> magazine editor Blair Jackson for giving our show a plug – along with Jake Shimabukuro, no less.<\/p>\n

Uked!<\/strong><\/em> is the story of Karla, who is dumped on her 50th birthday by her violin-playing boyfriend, Brian. Desperate to belong and prove her musical worth, she joins a dating site and takes up the ukulele, learning that love and the ukulele have a lot in common.<\/p>\n

Featured in our photo is our Karla (Rebecca Morton<\/strong>), with fellow Guildford Regional Ukulele Band (GRUBS) members, volunteer performers Barry Thompson<\/strong> and Kitty Skeen, <\/strong>during the 2019 production of Uked!<\/em><\/strong> at the Guildford Music Hall in Central Victoria.<\/p>\n

Sadly, Covid cancelled plans for Libretto Productions to produce the show <\/i><\/b>in Auckland, New Zealand.<\/p>\n

However, Growling Grin Productions in Adelaide, South Australia, hopes to produce it at Goolwa Centenary Hall in 2022. Check this site for future updates.<\/p>\n
